My dear

celestialsoda, Happy birthday! I've known you for a long while now, and you've been nothing but a brave, opinionated, interesting girl with too much talent to handle. I was so proud of knowing you when you put together

art2therescue and made it a raging success, and I never truly told you. I meant to. So here, have art instead, since I'm terrible with words. (Shhh, it's not too early. It's the 28th in Norway!)

(I wish I would've asked copperbadge for a collab something-or-other, so we could've suprised you with something grand, instead of just art. But, eh. You know I'm terrible at planning things on beforehand.)

Plans for the weekend:

1. Do commission.

damn thats freaking gorgeous!! you have some incredible highlights going on there, crowley's eye, azi's hair, thier clothing, magnificent!. the only thing im having trouble with is figuring out whos hand that is holding the watch. if its right hand the thumb should be facing us, if its his left it would be uncomfortable to hold something like that and its too bright, you could push the tonal values back on it to make it work, but it dosnt bother me that much, just a nitpick.
anyways, awesome piece, nice to see you experimetning and getting very lush and heavy in your color. keep it up!!

Uhh, where are they going? Is there gonna be dancing? Demons are really bad dancers, you know? But they sure can wear a hat! And Aziraphale's halo is so very perfect. This is so beautiful, I'm having so much fun thinking up stories for your painting--don't dare apologize for having "just art", it's more fun for the viewer to use their imaginations for the scenario anyway. Hee, Crowley is obviously showing off his new pocketwatch, the very latest in fashion--ohhh boys and their toys :) Maybe they're having some discussion about the nature of time / transience of all living things, and maybe for once Aziraphale sees the aberrant wisdom in what the demon is saying cos he's got this quiet little smile on his face...

I love the color palette in this. That background is so simple and yet so evocative. I think they're up in the clouds looking at some Victorian-celestial city.
